The United Bank Silver Eagles put the hurt on the SAV Sluggers on the Opening Day of Atmore Babe Ruth 12 and under Softball action, 14-6.
The Silver Eagles struck early with two runs in the first inning as Lu Lu and Grayson Emmons scored a run apiece. Alexandria Martin, Courtney Cook, Emmons, Cayla Gohagen, Taylor Byrd, Caitlyn Bruley, Audra Tatum and Debreysha Lee each scored a run in the second inning for the Silver Eagles.
The Sluggers answered with one run in the first inning, as Lacie Flowers scored, and two runs in the second inning, as Kiki and Yo Yo scored.
The Silver Eagles added four insurance runs as Lu Lu, Martin, Cook and Emmons scored again. Diamond Williams, Madyson McGlothren and Kiki each scored one run in the third inning.
Rangers 17 – Freezers 6
The Johnson Ford Rangers took the pain to the A/C Man Freezers to the tune of 17-6 on Opening Day.
Jasmine Ireland led the Rangers with three runs scored. Darby Randolph, Chelsey Ramer, Allie Brooks, Breann Rolin and Shelly Mothershed each scored two runs. Heather Davis, Y'Netta Craft, Makayla Smith and Carmesha Crenshaw each added one run scored.
Jordayn Rice scored two runs for the Freezers. Shyla Andrews, Alanna Johnson, Taylor Hill and Peyton Snider each added one run scored.
10 and under
Balers 6 – Magnolias 3
The Hendrix Tractor Balers won a close game over the First National Bank &Trust Magnolias on Opening Day of the Atmore Babe Ruth 10 and under Softball League May 5.
Mikayla Spruill scored two runs for the Balers and Logan Stewart, Jennifer Weaver, Autumn Albritton and Ariana Bonds added one run scored.
Ashlyn Glick, Jessica Sanspree and Penny Banda each scored one run for the Magnolias.
Marlins 13 – Rug Rats 6
As Mayfest took place on the inside part of Tom Byrne Park, the David's Catfish Marlins took care of business, defeating the Masland Carpet Rug Rats 13-6.
Yehelle Walker and Ashleigh Simpkins each scored three runs for the Marlins. Ciera Stots and Kaylee Cox added two runs scored. Nicole Cross, Olivia Tatum and Danesha Smoots scored one run apiece.
For the Rug Rats, Alia Snow and Kamryn Mothershed scored two runs each and Auburn Bailey and Victoria Sawyer scored one run each.
