ATMORE – Mrs. Lola Banks 93, of Atmore died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital.
Christian Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
John Henry Cooler
BARTH, Fla. – Mr. John Henry Cooler, 34, of Barth, Fla. died on Aug. 7, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
Mr. Cooler was a graduate of Tate High School in Molino, Fla. He worked as a construction worker most of his life. John was very well known in his community for his kind and gentle ways.
Mr. Cooler is survived by his mother and father, the Rev. Henry and Evangelist Mabel Cooler of Barth, Fla.; two sister, Lettie Mae Turner of Cleveland, Ohio and Ruth Powells of Atlanta and four brothers, Samuel Cooler of Lawton, Okla., Joseph Cooler of Pensacola, Emmanuel Cooler of Barth, Fla. and Nehemiah Cooler of Atmore.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2007 at the Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Pensacola. Bishop John Young is the pastor and minister and Nehemiah Cooler officiated.
Interment followed in White Lily Cemetery in Barth, Fla. with Turner Funeral Chapel of Atmore directing.
Lorene Tucker Mims
ATMORE – Mrs. Lorene Tucker Mims, 89, of Atmore died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007 at her residence. She was a homemaker born in Walton County, Fla., on Feb. 7, 1918 to the late John Lawson and Connie Pearl Seymore Tucker.
Mrs. Mims was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of First Methodist choir, member of the United Methodist Women, member of the Atmore Community Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Flomaton Research Club.
Her husband, Clifton Hobdy Mims Sr., one son, John Clifton Mims and four brothers, Donald Tucker, Johnny Tucker, Darwin Tucker and Connie Tucker, preceded Mrs. Mims in death.
Survivors include, one son, Clifton Mims and wife Totsie, one daughter Gayle Mims Ward and a daughter-in-law, Emilie Wood Mims, all of Atmore; two sisters, Martha Ann Tucker Pope of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. and Patsy Tucker Parker of Brandon, Miss.; seven grandchildren, Scott Ward Jr. and wife, Heather, Wesley W. Ward and wife, Eleanor, Jason Mims and wife, Suzanne, Rachel Mims Hobgood and husband, Jim, Joshua Mims and wife, Marcy, Lindsay Mims and Anna Mims, and 10 great grandchildren.
Services were held on Friday Aug. 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Rhodes and speaker Diane Everette officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be, Scott Ward Sr., Wesley W. Ward, Jason Mims, Joshua Mims, Jim Hobgood and Timothy Tucker.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Chancel Choir of First United Methodist Church, members of the U.M.W. and members of the Chapman Sunday School class.
Family received friends, Thursday evening, August 16, 2007 at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mrs. Mims will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to service.

Matthew "Mutt" Plovanich
RABUN – Mr. Matthew "Mutt" Plovanich, 82, of Rabun died on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007 at North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette. Mr. Plovanich was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy and was a retired office clerk with Pensacola Naval Station.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Plovanich of Rabun; George (Eileen) Plovanich of Rabun; one daughter, Jo Ann (Don) Bryars of Rabun and two grandchildren, Danny Mitchel Little II and Shannon Marie Plovanich.
His wife, Gloria A. Plovanich, preceded Mr. Plovanich in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 11, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Perdido Church of God with the Rev. Scott Brooks and Sister Thursia Long officiating. Interment followed at Bryars-McGill Cemetery in Perdido. The United States Navy Honor Guard will render military honors.
Family received friends Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Norris Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy Whidbee, Darrell McDowell, Wendell Hart, James Blackmon, Darwin Earls and Billy Moseley. Honorary pallbearers included Rabun Volunteer Fire Department and Frank Klasnich.
Norris Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
Rosa Evelyn Sepulvado
ZWOLLE, La. – Funeral services for Rosa Evelyn Godwin Sepulvado, 78, were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Tim Hurd officiating. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Zwolle, La. Visitation was held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Zwolle, La.
Mrs. Sepulvado was born on Sept. 10, 1928 in Oak Grove, Fla. and passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007.
Survivors include, daughters, Wanda McDonald and husband Bill of Stonewall, La., Beverly Jean Temple of Stonewall, La., Charlotte Webb and husband Carl of Stonewall, La., Anna Ferguson and husband Randy of Florien, La., and Rosa Sepulvado and husband Michael of Noble, La.; sons, Martin Sepulvado Jr. wife Barbara of Zwolle La. and Donald Sepulvado, Sr. and wife Patricia of Zwolle, La.; one sister, Una Miller of Fort Payne, Fla.; one brother, Windell Godwin of McClenny, Fla., 27 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Brian Sepulvado, Chris Sepulvado, Mike Jones, Donald Sepulvado Jr., Michael Sepulvado and Joey Garcie. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Garcie, Andy Martinez and grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of choice.
Clementine Bishop
ATMORE – Mrs. Clementine Bishop, 90, of Atmore died Aug. 17, 2007 at Atmore Community Hospital.
Services will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel of Atmore.
