Local radio station owner Walter J. Bowen was arrested Wednesday morning on two charges of sexual abuse of a child younger than 12, according to Robertsdale police.
Bowen, 67, of Robertsdale, was charged with one count by Robertsdale authorities as well as one count by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Lou Vickery, co-host for the L.A. Morning Show on the Great American Network’s 105.9 WNSI-FM, said Bowen is unofficially associated with the station due to a Federal Communications Commission license transfer.
According to a report in the “Mobile Press-Register” on Wednesday, the investigation was conducted by the Robertsdale Police Department after an incident was reported in August. A grand jury indicted Bowen on the charges.
Vickery said the incident was a shock to him, but he could not speak further on the subject.
Bowen is currently being held at the Baldwin County Corrections Center on $75,000 bond.
A representative with the investigations unit of the Robertsdale Police Department could not be reached.
