The Carney Lodge Cougars beat Greenlawn Home Health 5-0 Thursday in Babe Ruth League action.

The Cougars scored most of their runs in the top of the first inning. After a one-out single, Kevin Gumapack, Ben Martin, Jackson Bonner and Pate Robinson were walked, which scored two runs before Eric Williams singled to clear the bases. The Cougars led 4-0 after the first.

Greenlawn was held hitless in the bottom of the inning.

The Cougars scored their fifth run in the top of the second. Jimmy Overstreet walked in the bottom of the second before Nakel Robinson picked up Greenlawn’s first hit. He was stranded when Randy Johnson and D.J. Dirden struck out.

Eric Williams got on base for the Cougars after being hit by a pitch in the top of the third inning. Rashaun Flavors doubled, but was stranded.

West Alabama Utilities beat the PCI Braves 13-0

The West Alabama Utilities team hit well in a 13-0 win over the PCI Braves.

After holding the Braves scoreless in the top of the first, the homestanding Atmore team benefited from a Gayton Thames leadoff triple.

Rashaun Flavors struck out during the next at-bat, but Eric Williams was hit by a pitch to put runners on the corners.

Marlon Lee was hit by a pitch to load the bases before Devonte Dailey hit a single to score two runs for Atmore. Brandon Cummings doubled to clear the bases and give Atmore a 5-0 lead.

Flavors walked with two outs in the bottom of the second. Williams and Lee singled to score the runner and give Atmore a 6-0 lead. Dailey struck out to end the inning.

West Alabama Utilities scored the rest of its runs in the bottom of the third.
