Atmore beats PCI

West Alabama Utilities beat the PCI Braves Monday night in Babe Ruth baseball action at Tom Byrne Park in Atmore.

The Braves were held scoreless in the top of the first, thanks in large part to a double play turned by the Atmore infield.

Leadoff hitter Gaeton Thames reached first base on an error in the bottom of the inning. Rashan Flavors moved Thames up with a single as did Devonte Dailey. Marlon Lee reached on an error and Carlos McNeil reached on a walk. Logan Stacey also walked.

Atmore led 5-0 at the end of the first after Thames, Flavors, Dailey, Lee and McNeil all scored.

PCI scored a run in the top of the second to cut the lead to 5-1. Thames reached again on an error in the bottom of the inning for Atmore. Dailey walked and Lee cleared the bases with a triple to put Atmore up 7-1 after two.

PCI scored two runs in the top of the third to cut the Atmore lead to 7-3. Atmore went scoreless in the bottom of the inning and the game ended.

Carney Lodge routs Greenlawn 13-1

The Carney Lodge Cougars beat Greenlawn Home Health 13-1 in action from Monday night.

Ryan Johnson led off with a single for the Cougars, while Kainoa Gumapack singled. Gumapack and Johnson both scored to give the Cougars a 2-0 lead after one inning.

Gumapack singled and scored again in the second. Thomas Booth and Pate Robinson also scored for the Cougars. Nakel Robinson scored for Greenlawn to cut the Cougars’ lead to 5-1 at the end of the second.

The Cougars added eight runs in the third inning to take the game 13-1.
