An Atmore woman was arrested June 26 on a drug possession charge, according to officials.

Atmore Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann said in a release that Jessica Sawyer, 41, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.

McMann said at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday, APD narcotics agents assisted a Poarch Police Department officer who was conducting a traffic stop on Jack Springs Road.

“During the stop, one of the narcotics agents contacted the driver (Sawyer),” he said. “During the agent’s interaction with Sawyer, the agent recovered multiple Adderall pills from Sawyer.”
