Greenlawn crushes Indians 10-3

Runs were easy to come by for Greenlawn Home Health as they doubled up the PCI Indians 6-3 in Babe Ruth baseball action Monday at Tom Byrne Park.

Greenlawn grabbed control of the game in the first inning taking the lead 2-1 as Brannon Freeman and Brett Helton ripped hits to get on base and make it home.

Greenlawn extended their lead in the top of the second with two runs being scored by Hunter Sherouse and Chilly Myrick in the bottom of the second putting their team on top 4-1.

Tadd Huskey cut Greenlawn’s lead to two runs in the bottom of the inning when he reached base on a walk and was knocked in by Chris’ single.

Greenlawn put the game away in the top of the fourth as they scored two more runs with Sherouse and Myrick making the trip around the basepath for the second time in the contest.

The Indians fell short of any comeback attempts in the bottom of the fourth despite scoring one run with Dustin’s run making the final 6-3.

The Poarch Creek Indians Tomahawks survived a close game with the Atmore Utilities Boad 5-3 Monday in Babe Ruth action at Tom Byrne Park.

The Tomahawks grabbed the lead early as Kevin Vaughn ripped a single and scored on a single by Harold Harrison.

In the third inning, the Tomahawks extended their lead to two as Vaugn scored his second run of the game.

Atmore Utilities finally got on the board in the third inning and took the lead with Logan Smith, Bo Bishop and Matthews scoring runs.

The Tomahawks tied the game in the fifth and pulled ahead for the victory in the sixth with Harrison and Chance Jackson scoring the go ahead runs to help their team win 5-3.
